LEARN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH THE BERGISCHE KOLLEG
AS LEARNING ENGLISH WITH US IS INTERESTING AND REWARDING

After an entrance test your English will be brushed up in the first year. Later you choose between two kinds of courses:
our Leistungskurse with 5 lessons a week or
our Grundkurse with 3 lessons a week.

With the recent introduction of the centralized written abitur examination ("schriftliches Zentralabitur") a fixed syllabus of topics and  subtopics with fictional and non-fictional texts has been implemented for the main phase I.e. year 2 and 3. It is changed every two or three years. The following set of subjects are obligatory for the "abitur 2008 and 2009": British Monarchy, Globalization, Migration and Britain American Dream etc. Accordingly, texts like the play "Death of a Salesman" are read and its message analysed.
You will be taught how to write analyses and how to express your own opinion about the literary works you read.
Our internet equipment will link you to the newspapers of all English speaking countries and lead you into the secret circles of the power brokers in London and in Washington.
Excursions to the exciting places in Britain will round up your English you learn at our college.
Your teacher will make you fit to pass the "Abitur" in English whether spoken or written.

Wenn Sie den englischen Text nicht verstanden haben, sind Sie richtig bei uns!

Denn nach einem Eingangstest werden Ihre Englischkenntnisse zunächst in einem Jahr aufpoliert.
Danach können Sie zwischen zwei Kursarten wählen:

Leistungskurse mit 5 Wochenstunden oder
Grundkurse mit 3 Wochenstunden.

Mit Einführung zentral gestellter schriftlicher Abiturprüfungen ab 2008 legt ein Lehrplan die Unterrichtsthemen und die entsprechenden fiktionalen und nicht-fiktionalen Texte für die Hauptphase (2. und 3. Jahr) fest. Alle zwei oder drei Jahre wird dieser Lehrplan geändert.

Folgende Themen sind für das Abitur 2008 und 2009 verbindlich: "British Monarchy, Globalization, Migration and Britain, American Dream" etc. Entsprechende Texte wie z.B. das Theaterstück "Death of a Salesman" werden gelesen und interpretiert. Sie werden lernen, wie man Interpretationen verfasst und Kommentare zu literarischen Texte aber auch Sachtexten wie z.B. Zeitungsartikel schreibt.

Mit Hilfe unseres Internets lesen Sie die aktuellen Tageszeitungen aller englischsprachigen Länder und erhalten Einblicke in die geheimen Zirkel der Mächtigen in London und in Washington. Besuche von aufregenden Orten in Großbritannien vervollständigen Ihr Englisch an unserem Kolleg. Ihre Lehrer werden Sie fit machen für das Abitur im schriftlichen und mündlichen Englisch.
